Strong Financial Infrastructure Through Global Collaborations
As Merkezi Kayıt Kuruluşu (MKK), we develop numerous collaborations, organize international events, and establish new communication networks to enhance our global influence.
In line with our vision of becoming a globally effective central securities depository, we have taken many important steps from the past to the present. By presenting Türkiye’s robust central securities depository infrastructure, as well as the financial technology solutions we offer beyond our core CSD services, to countries both near and far, we aim to contribute to Türkiye’s service exports and international visibility.
Expanding Our Network of Influence through the Roles and Responsibilities We Undertake
In line with our mission to serve as an effective central securities depository on a global scale, we actively assume responsibilities in international associations and organizations.. These include the Chairmanship of the Board of Directors of the World Forum of Central Securities Depositories (WFC) since September 2025, the Presidency of the Association of Eurasian Central Securities Depositories (AECSD) since October 2023, and membership on the Board of Directors of the Africa and Middle East Depositories Association (AMEDA) since 2024.
Strengthening Our Role as a Regional Hub of Trust Through International Events
Within the scope of the AECSD & AMEDA İstanbul Summit 2024, which we organized on October 2–4, 2024, representatives of central securities depositories from over 40 countries gathered for the first time at the İstanbul Financial Center and the Borsa İstanbul Group campus.
As part of the CSD Summit İstanbul 2026, we will once again bring together participants from 75 central securities depositories across more than 60 countries in İstanbul, organizing the first CSD event of an even larger scale.
New Collaborations for Direct Access of Foreign Investors to Our Country
Through bilateral agreements that enable Government Domestic Debt Securities (GDDS) transactions to be executed via omnibus accounts, we ensure that foreign investors have broader access to our country’s capital markets.
In this context, 4 omnibus accounts have been opened since 2020. In addition to accounts belonging to international central securities depositories such as Euroclear Bank and Clearstream, we also provide services to the Central Depositories of Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan under the omnibus account framework.
We have compiled the significant steps taken toward this goal in chronological order for you:
