Crypto Asset Service Providers Integrated with MKK through KVMKS
As Merkezi Kayıt Kuruluşu (MKK), we are extending our longstanding expertise in capital markets to the crypto-asset ecosystem, thereby facilitating a significant transformation in the sector.
With the official mandate entrusted to our institution, MKK has developed and launched the Crypto Asset Central Registration System (KVMKS) to integrate information on crypto assets traded within Türkiye that are not otherwise recorded in a centralized registry.
Through KVMKS, customer balances, buy/sell transactions, transfers, deposits and withdrawals, as well as the associated depository-related transaction data submitted by Crypto Asset Service Providers acting on behalf of investors, are systematically recorded and maintained. By establishing this official monitoring and reporting mechanism - considered pioneering on a global scale in terms of the comprehensive analysis of crypto-asset market data and its reporting to competent authorities - MKK has introduced an important regulatory infrastructure to the Turkish financial ecosystem.
To date, a total of 53 Crypto Asset Service Providers, comprising 7 depository institutions and 46 trading platforms listed by the Capital Markets Board of Türkiye (CMB), have successfully completed their integration processes with KVMKS. Throughout this process, MKK has continuously provided uninterrupted technological support to trading platforms and depository institutions through technical assistance, system enhancements, and ongoing updates. Through the development of API integrations and standardized data frameworks, MKK supports market participants in achieving the required operational and reporting standards while ensuring the timely and accurate flow of information to regulatory and supervisory authorities.
Furthermore, investors will be able to monitor crypto-asset records and transactions reported to MKK through the e-YATIRIMCI platform, in the same manner as they track their traditional capital market assets.
Through its integration with e-YATIRIMCI, its asset-liability reconciliation mechanisms between trading platforms and depository institutions, and its information-sharing environments serving the Capital Markets Board of Türkiye (CMB), the Financial Crimes Investigation Board (MASAK), and the Central Bank of the Republic of Türkiye (TCMB), KVMKS positions Türkiye as a global benchmark in the regulation, transparency, and oversight of crypto-asset markets.
