The Central Securities Depository of Türkiye (MKK) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Central Securities Depository of Argentina, Caja de Valores.

The signing ceremony took place in Almaty, Kazakhstan, as part of the 25th Meeting of the World Forum of Central Securities Depositories (WFC25). Dr. Ekrem ARIKAN, MKK's CEO and Board Member, and Alejandro Santiago BERNEY, CEO of Caja de Valores, were in attendance.

The MoU aims to enhance cooperation, information exchange, technology transfer, and knowledge sharing between the two institutions, with the goal of increasing integration between the Argentina and Turkish capital markets.

In a statement regarding the agreement, Dr. Ekrem ARIKAN, CEO and Board Member of MKK, expressed his pleasure at signing the MoU with the Argentina Central Securities Depository. He said, "We are delighted that our capital markets' robust infrastructure is attracting interest even from South America, one of the most distant geographies from our country. As MKK, we are developing various collaborations with many countries and foreign financial institutions. Our products and services are becoming well-known abroad. The most recent example of this is that the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) recently cited our Electronic General Meeting System (e-GKS) as one of the world's exemplary applications."

Dr. ARIKAN also noted that this is the first agreement signed between MKK and a Central Securities Depository in the Americas, emphasizing the significance of the interest in the corporate governance services MKK provides as a financial market infrastructure institution.
