YAKUP ERGİNCAN, Ph.D.
CEO and Board Member

Upon receiving his Bachelor’s Degree from Department of
Business Administration, Marmara University (1990), Masters Degree on
“Accounting & Finance” from the same university (1995) and MBA
degree from University of Michigan Business School (1998), he received
his Ph.D. in Banking from Marmara University (2001). He obtained
Associate Professorship Degree in “Accounting & Finance” from
the Council of Turkish Universities (2009).
After having worked as a teaching assistant in the Department
of Industrial Engineering, Marmara University (1990-1991), he worked as a
specialist and chief specialist in the Enforcement Department, Capital
Markets Board of Turkey between 1991 and 2002. He worked as a consultant
at the World Bank (Washington D.C., 1997-1998) and
PricewaterhouseCoopers (Detroit, 1997). Since 2008 he is the CEO and
Board Member of Central Registry Agency Inc. where he previously worked
as the Operations & Project Manager responsible for the
Dematerialization Project and as Executive Vice President between 2002
and 2008. He also lectures at Kadir Has University “Capital Markets”
Masters Program (2004-) and at Marmara University “Capital Markets and
Exchanges” Ph. D. Program.
Some of his selected works are "Stock Index Futures,
Portfolio Management with Stock Index Futures and the Applicability of
Stock Index Futures Markets in Turkey" (1995, Master Thesis),
“Stock Index Futures” (1996, Capital Markets Board
of Turkey Publication), “Managing Private Capital Flows in
Asia: Lessons and New Challenges”(1997, along with a team of
researchers and academicians, a World Bank Publication), "EVA©
and MVA©: Econometric Analysis of Stock Prices Listed At
ISE” (2001, Ph.D. Thesis). He is the author of two books:
“Corporate Governance: Current Situation and Proposals for
Future Prospects in Turkey “ (2004) and “Corporate
Valuation: Classical and Modern Approaches” (2004). He also
published various articles on dematerialization, corporate valuation,
investor protection, and corporate
governance.
ÜMİT YAYLA
EXECUTIVE VICE PRESIDENT

Having been graduated from the Faculty of Law of Ankara
University in 1992, he worked as junior and senior legal expert in the
Capital Markets Board of Turkey between 1994 and 2002. Between the years
of 2002 and 2009 he worked as the Chief Legal Counsel at CRA. He is
currently working as the executive vice president with responsibilities
related to the Investors Protection Fund and legal affairs of CRA.
He gave presentations and published many articles such as
“Exercise of Voting Rights in Joint Stock Companies After the
Dematerialization of Stocks” (Present to Prof. Dr. Aydin Aybay, Istanbul
2004), “Central Registry Agency and the Dematerialized System: Problems
in Implementation and Suggestions for Solution” (Bankers Magazine,
Volume 71 December 2009), “Participation to General Assembly Meetings of
Joint Stock Companies in the Dematerialized System According to the New
Commercial Code”, (TUSIAD Conference, “The New Turkish Commercial Code:
Do You Know Your Responsibilities?”).
ASLI GÜNEL
EXECUTIVE VICE PRESIDENT

She graduated from Economics Department of Political Sciences
Faculty of Ankara University in 1994 and began working in assistant
expert and expert positions at the Capital Markets Board of Turkey
between 1995 and 2002. She worked as the manager of the Investors
Protection Fund in CRA between 2002 and 2005 and as the manager of the
Operations and Depository Department between 2005 and 2009. Currently,
as an executive vice president at CRA, she is responsible for
operations, membership services, international relations and business
development. Ms. Gunel has a graduate degree in finance from Bogazici
University.
MUSTAFA EKİCİ
EXECUTIVE VICE PRESIDENT

He was born in Malatya. After graduating from Ankara High
School of Finance, he received his undergraduate degree in Labor Economy
from the Industrial Affairs Department of the Political Sciences
Faculty of Ankara University in 1988. He received his graduate degree in
Business Administration Department from Gazi University’s Institute of
Social Sciences. He worked at the Ministry of Finance between 1983 and
1989. He worked as a deputy inspector and inspector at the Prime
Ministry’s General Directorate for Charitable Funds. Mr. Ekici began
working at CRA as a manager in 2002 and currently he is the executive
vice president responsible for finance, accounting, administrative
affairs, purchasing and human resources
departments.
HÜSAMETTİN KORKUNÇ
EXECUTIVE VICE PRESIDENT

He graduated from Ege University’s Department of Engineering as
a computer engineer in 1991. He worked in software development
projects, especially in the finance sector for years. He also worked in
several positions responsible for management and development of banking
applications and specialized in enterprise content management systems
(ECM) and business process management systems (BPM). He left the
company, where he started as a Software Engineer, as the Director of the
Business Process Management Department. He is working as the Chief
Information Officer (CIO) in CRA since October 2010.
